SUSTAINABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY IN PRACTICE AT KINGS

Leather Making Process

At KINGS, sustainability begins at our in-house, captive tannery, which plays a critical role in managing the organic solid waste generated by slaughterhouses. This waste, if not processed in a timely manner, could lead to putrefaction, pollution, and potential epidemics. By utilizing this natural raw material, our tannery helps prevent such environmental risks while turning this by-product into valuable leather. This approach not only reduces waste but also substitutes the use of plastic and other non-breathable, synthetic materials, making our leather products more eco-friendly and sustainable.

TANNING OPTIONS

WET WHITE LEATHER

CHROME-FREE & METAL-FREE BIO LEATHER

This highly eco-friendly and sustainable tanning process transforms fresh, unsalted green hides into Wet White, a pre-tanned material ready for further tanning and re-tanning. The process utilizes natural vegetable tanning extracts such as Wattle solid & powder, Quebracho, Chestnut, and Myrabolam, along with ZDHC and REACH compliant chemicals, ensuring a safer and more environmentally responsible leather production method.

WET BLUE LEATHER

CHROME PRE-TANNED LEATHER:

This is a widely used tanning process in tanneries worldwide, where Basic Chrome Sulfate is employed as both the pre-tanning and tanning agent, converting raw hides into Wet Blue leather. However, there is a potential risk of Chromium III oxidizing and converting into the more harmful Chromium VI under certain conditions.

ETHICAL LEATHER

KINGS is among the few, if not the only, innovative tanneries in the Unnao region that is genuinely committed to sustainability within the leather supply chain. The company demonstrates transparency, internal traceability, and ethical sourcing practices while ensuring animal welfare in collaboration with the abattoirs.

At the core of our operations, KINGS is dedicated to producing Green Leather products that are crafted through environmentally friendly processes and use ZDHC-compliant chemicals. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have developed a new range of Bio-Leather, which is Chrome-Free and Metal-Free, making it safer and more eco-friendly than traditional leather.

We strictly adhere to REACH and ZDHC standards, ensuring that the chemicals we use are safe and in compliance with both EU and US environmental norms.

In our efforts to minimize our carbon footprint, KINGS utilizes renewable solar energy for production activities. This renewable energy initiative has brought us closer to achieving carbon neutrality, highlighting our commitment to sustainable operations and environmental responsibility.
